Happy New Year!
Man, it feels like I
haven't written one of these emails since last year... I guess time
really flies here on the mission. But it's been a great week! I really
enjoy having these holidays happen every few days! I think the number of
meals I eat in the week at least doubles, and if I had a scale in my
apartment, I'm sure I would see my weight doubling as well!
This
week has been a spiritual feast as well! On Thursday, we were able to
meet with a new investigator named Gus. HE IS AWESOME (excited caps, not
angry caps)! He's had a rough few months, and he's been looking for a
way to start fresh and find that happiness that he's been missing in his
life. Well one thing that I've learned here on my mission is that God
is all about fresh starts! The circumstances that allowed us to meet Gus
were definitely not a coincidence, and it was a testament to me that
God wants all of His children to overcome those troubles that they go
through and come closer to Him. With the start of the New Year, we all
have the ability to start fresh in some aspect of our lives. I invite
all of you to begin anew on your path towards your Heavenly Father. I
know that He will help you just as he helped Gus. I love you guys!
Sincerely,
Elder Doyle
